From the shore to the hilltop in Palos Verdes, one can easily find numerous outdoor, leisure, and social activities in the summer months and even year-round. One of the many appealing reasons to live on the Hill is being in close proximity to a variety of private clubs. From beach clubs to golf clubs, in this post, Lynn Kim Real Estate Group will share about the exclusive and semi-private options on the Hill.

Palos Verdes Beach and Athletic Club

The Palos Verdes Beach and Athletic Club, known for its 1930’s landmark building, is perched directly on the sand in Malaga Cove. Piquing everyone’s curiosity who sees it from afar, the private members-only club keeps a heavy waiting list for good reason. The Club includes a 5 story clubhouse, Olympic size pool, kids pool, two jacuzzis, steam room and sauna as well as massage therapy services and fitness classes. There are also a variety of social activities for children and adults. Luckily, access to this highly desire club can be had for a fee via day passes, but these passes are reserved only for Palos Verdes Estates residents.

Portuguese Bend Club

In Rancho Palos Verdes, on the shoreline is the secluded Portuguese Bend Club. This club is a private gated community with its own private beach in the Portuguese Bend Cove. Always a picturesque scene with panoramic ocean views, the soft sandy beach is sprinkled with picnic tables, volleyball courts, fire pits, and a playground for kids. Take the kids exploring in the tide pools that can be reached on the south end of the private beach.

Rolling Hills Country Club

The members-only Rolling Hills Country Club was designed with the whole family in mind. The stellar clubhouse was designed by Robert Altevers, known for a hit list of outstanding properties like Pelican Hill, Newport, and The Grand Del Mar, San Diego. The clubhouse amenities include fine dining, event spaces, and a spa. Outdoors enjoy the lounge, sparkling pool with cabanas, tennis, or the championship golf course designed by David McLay Kidd, designer of world-famous Bandon Dunes in Oregon.

Palos Verdes Country Club

The newly renovated Palos Verdes Golf Course is a championship course that is members-only. It includes a Mediterranean-style clubhouse with a delightful restaurant and bar overlooking the meticulously groomed course. The restaurant is open to the public.
